International Stroke Conference 2023
Last week, at the International Stroke Conference (ISC; 8-10 Feb; Dallas, TX) we had the opportunity to present the results of our ELECTRA-STROKE study as a late breaking poster. Our abstract was presented by Maritta van Stigt who received the Paul Dudley White International Travel Award for outstanding research.

We performed dry electrode EEG recordings in 389 suspected stroke patients in the prehospital setting and found high diagnostic accuracy of EEG for large vessel occlusion stroke. We received positive feedback on these results from the audience at the conference. We were happy to see that, like us, many stroke experts are now considering EEG as a decision support solution for stroke triage in the ambulance.
The ELECTRA-STROKE study is coordinated by Amsterdam UMC. The protocol paper has been published last year (DOI: 10.3389/fneur.2022.1018493) and the manuscript with the results of the study is currently under review.
